Twenty-five student leaders from the I’m A Star Foundation traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for solutions to critical issues surrounding youth mental health.

STARS Host Milestone 10th Let's Move Jax 

Inspired by former First Lady Michelle Obama, STAR Teen Influencers are hosting their 10th Let's Move Jacksonville, sponsored by Farah and Farah. This big field day, hosted at JaxParks' Klutho Park, is focused on health, fitness and self care.

STARS Create Teen Mental Health Toolkits 

I’m A Star Foundation teens created and delivered 1,000+ toolkits to students in Duval County Public Schools to empower their mental health.

I’m A Star Foundation and The Florida Times-Union host GIRL TALK, a conversation among teen girls and women about the historic inauguration of the nation's first female Vice President Kamala Harris.

I’m A Star students are featured in national publication, The Grio, for making their voices heard in their Live Student Debate on Reopening Schools.

STARS Debate Reopening Schools

I’m A Star students held the debate to make youth voices heard in the adult-dominated discussion on reopening schools. A total of 38 students participated in gathering research and helping to shape the arguments.

STARS Host #2020STRONG for Class of 2020

I'm A Star students partnered with production company Done and Dusted to host a national celebration for the Class of 2020. Festivities included a virtual prom with national TikTok Prom King, Queen and Group, a house party and Day of Hope.

STARS & AARP See Harriet

I'm A Star teen servant leaders met with members of AARP for an intergenerational movie date to see the movie Harriet. STAR students represented eight "risk takers" in black history and shared facts about them with seniors before watching the film.

9th Annual Let's Move Jacksonville

I'm A Star teen servant leaders plan this healthy food and fitness event each year. Hundreds of Jacksonville residents, including children, community influencers, city leaders and senior citizens came out for a fun day in the park to end childhood obesity.

STARS Host Mock Election with Elected Officials

I'm A Star Summer Leadership Academy middle school students gave speeches in mock campaigns for mayor, sheriff, city council and school board. Elected officials casted their votes!

STARS Host 2019 Leader to Leader Summit

I'm A Star students invited city, state and national leaders to collaborate on solutions to crime, bullying and transforming disengaged students into leaders.

100 STARS Teen Development Center

City Council takes a step toward building Teen Development Center in NW Jax. In partnership with the City of Jacksonville, I’m A Star Foundation and 100 Black Men of Jacksonville, Inc. will provide youth programming and staffing.

Youth Homeless Numbers
Down

Action News Jax learned the number of homeless children in Jacksonville is down. They contacted I'm A Star Foundation as a leader in the fight to end student homelessness. Our teen servant leaders shared their thoughts on the challenges these kids face, and why they're committed to providing help.
